The "Forward to an external phone number" feature allows you to seamlessly redirect incoming calls from your Ringover app to an external mobile or landline of your choice. In this guide, you’ll learn how to quickly configure this option to ensure you never miss a call, even during an internet outage.
Prerequisites
You must have credits available in your account to forward calls to an external number.
Setting up call forwarding to an external number
1. Enable call forwarding
You can easily configure your forwarding settings directly from your Ringover profile.
- Go to the Call Forwarding section settings in your Ringover profile.
- Select the type of forwarding you need (All calls or Missed calls only).
- Select forward to an external number from the call forwarding options (user, group, IVR, external number)
- Enter the external number to which the calls will be forwarded.
👉 Keep in mind that the cost of call forwarding to an external number is $0.03/min.
⚠️ Calls will be forwarded to the external number via Ringover, following the exact same settings and delays as those set for your regular Ringover numbers. Additionally, only one call can be redirected at a time per user when this function is enabled.
2. Disable Call Forwarding
If you are back online or no longer need your calls redirected, you can quickly turn the feature off.
- Go to the Call Forwarding section settings in your Ringover profile.
- Click the dropdown list to disable call forwarding.
- Select None.
🎉 You now know how to forward calls to an external number and can ensure you remain reachable no matter the circumstances!
