Configuring your audio devices allows you to ensure optimal sound quality for all your incoming and outgoing calls. In this guide, you’ll learn how to set up your microphone, manage your headset settings, and configure your computer's operating system preferences.
Configure your audio devices
1. Access your device settings
You can easily select your preferred hardware directly from your application settings.
- Click on Devices.
- Go to Mic.
- Select your input device (for example, Jabra Evolve 2 40).
- Repeat the exact same process for your Speakers and Ringtone.
2. Manage devices
You can easily control your connected headsets and apply advanced audio filters to improve call quality directly from the app.
- Click on the Jabra icon.
- Select an existing device to use.
- Click to add a new device or unplug the headset as needed.
Advanced Audio Filters
You also have access to advanced filters to enhance your communication:
- Acoustic echo cancellation: Prevents the microphone from picking up sound from your speakers, eliminating distracting echoes.
- Automatic gain control: Automatically adjusts your microphone volume so your voice remains at a consistent, comfortable level for the caller.
- Active noise control: Reduces unwanted background noise from your environment to ensure clearer audio.
- High pass filter: Removes low-frequency background sounds, such as hums or rumbles, to improve overall voice clarity.
3. Configure sound settings on Windows
Ensure your computer is using the correct default devices for your communications.
- Go to the Windows Settings menu.
- Go to Sound.
- In the Output section, select the audio device you want to use.
- Click on Use as default for communications.
- In the Input section, select your microphone.
- Click on Also use as default for communications.
4. Configure sound settings on Mac
If you are using a Mac, you can quickly adjust your audio preferences from your system settings.
- Go to System Settings.
- Click on Sound.
- In the Output section, select the device you want to use.
- In the Input section, select your microphone.
