How to convert a phone number to a fax number

Converting a phone number to a fax number allows you to receive faxes directly on a dedicated line. In this guide, you’ll learn how to easily change your existing numbers to fax lines from both the Numbers and IVR sections.

Convert a phone number to a fax number

1. Converting via the numbers tab

You can quickly convert any of your existing numbers to a fax line directly from your number pool.

  1. Go to the Numbers section.
  2. Go to the All section.
  3. Click on the fax icon in the right corner.
💡 If you want to convert it back to a standard phone number again, simply click the fax icon again.

2. Converting via the IVR tab

You can also assign a number to be a fax line directly from your Interactive Voice Response (IVR) menus.

  1. Go to the IVR section.
  2. Select a number in the desired IVR.
  3. Click on the three dots on the right corner.
  4. Select Convert to fax number.
