The Ringover Google Chrome extension allows you to manage all of your calls directly from your browser. In this guide, you will learn how to clear your browser cache to quickly resolve the issue preventing you from answering incoming calls.
1. Understand the cause of the block
When you receive an incoming call, the Ringover extension opens correctly as a pop-up, but you cannot click the button to answer. This issue occurs when Google Chrome consumes too much RAM, which temporarily slows down or freezes the extension's interactivity.
2. Clear Google Chrome's cache
To free up memory and restore proper extension performance, you need to clear your browser's temporary data :
- Open Google Chrome on your computer.
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete (on Windows) or Cmd + Shift + Delete (on Mac) simultaneously to open the clearing menu.
- Tick only the box for "Cached images and files".
- Click the "Clear data" button.
3. Restart the browser
After clearing the cache, restart your browser to properly apply the changes :
- Completely close all open Google Chrome windows.
- Relaunch Google Chrome.
- Log in to your Ringover extension.
- Perform an incoming test call to verify that you can answer calls again.
💡Tip: To prevent this issue from happening again in the future, regularly close unused tabs to limit Google Chrome's RAM consumption.
⚠️ Important: Make sure not to tick the "Cookies and other site data" box when clearing the cache, otherwise you will be logged out of your other active applications and work sessions.
🎉 You now know how to clear your browser cache and can once again answer all your calls as soon as the notification appears!
