Introduction to the Integrated Ringover Dialer
The Ringover Dialer is an extension that allows users to make phone calls, send SMS, and launch calling campaigns from any web page. This tool is particularly useful for users working in sales prospecting, support, or customer relations who navigate between multiple tabs or platforms.
(On the right, the Dialer integrated into the page / On the left, the Ringover Dialer extension bookmarked)
Prerequisite :
- The "Click to Call" extension must not be enabled. If it is still active, you can disable or uninstall it from your Chrome browser extensions.
Choosing Display Modes
The Dialer can be configured to remain accessible even when switching tabs:
- Side panel Webapp: Displayed in a browser side panel.
-
Integration in tab: Dialer in a tab integrated into the page itself. (The opening of the dialer depends on the policies of the visited pages, which may or may not allow the use of certain components.)
the dash button allows you to minimize the dialer and the 6 small dots allow you to move the dialer on your page.
-
Webapp on tab: The Dialer opens in your Webapp.
-
Desktop app: Redirects to the Ringover desktop application.
- External number / SIP Phone: For users with an external phone line.
Number Format
You can define the display format of detected phone numbers on web pages via the option:
- Phone number format: Example – (+33) France
Action When Clicking a Number
Choose what happens when a number is clicked:
- Click to Call: Immediately initiates the call (default option).
-
Click to Power Dial: For each number you select, you will be redirected to your Webapp, in the Power Dialer, at the time of the click.
A popup will appear and show you the list of phone numbers detected on the page. You will then simply need to choose the numbers you wish to call using your Power Dialer. - Click to SMS: Opens an SMS sending interface.
Other Useful Options
- Remove highlighting: Removes automatic highlighting of numbers.
- Go to Webapp tab: Direct access to the Ringover webapp tab.
- Open Webapp on side bar / Close integration Webapp: Manages the Dialer display.
Thanks to the Webapp on tab option, you can click on any number detected on a page, and immediately make the call via the Ringover Dialer tab without interrupting your browsing.
Blacklist Management
The Dialer menu also offers a “Manage Blacklist” feature which allows you to exclude certain web pages or domains from automatic number detection.
Why use this feature?
You may visit websites containing sensitive, non-professional numbers or numbers you should not click on by mistake (banks, internal systems, shared documents, etc.). This feature allows you to disable Ringover’s automatic detection on such sites.
How to manage the blacklist?
Here’s how to add an address to the blacklist:
- Click on Manage Blacklist at the bottom of the Dialer menu.
- A new window opens with the Blacklist Management section.
- Choose the protocol (
http
orhttps
). - Enter the domain or URL to exclude (e.g.
example.com
). - Click on Add.
You can enter specific addresses or generic ranges using wildcards (*
).
Examples:
-
https://www.linkedin.com/*
: will exclude all LinkedIn pages. -
http://intranet.mydomain.com/*
: disables detection in your intranet.
