Configuring Ringover on a Yealink phone allows you to seamlessly make and receive calls using a physical desk phone. In this guide, you’ll learn how to properly configure the phone settings and link it to a specific user account.
Installing Ringover on your Yealink Phone
1. Access the phone's configuration page
To begin the setup, you need to find your phone's IP address and log in to its web interface.
- Click on OK on the phone.
- Select Status and then Base to find the IP address.
- Enter the IP address in your web browser's search bar.
- Enter the default credentials: admin for both the Username and Password.
2. Prepare the user account in Ringover
💡 Check the permissions of the client to ensure SIP is activated. If it is not, activate it before proceeding.
Before configuring the phone, you must retrieve the user's SIP credentials from the Ringover dashboard.
- Go to your company dashboard, select Configuration, and click on Users.
- Find the name of the person who will own the phone (e.g., Laura Durand).
- Click on "Edit".
- Go to "Permissions" section.
- Enable the "SIP account" option.
3. Configure the SIP Account on the Phone
Now, apply the user's credentials and server details to register the phone.
- On the phone configuration page, select Account and then Register.
- Set the Line Active option to Enabled.
- Enter the first name and last name of the customer in Label and Display Name.
- Go to the user's Ringover settings and navigate to the SIP section to find their credentials.
- Copy the username from Ringover and paste it into Register Name and Username.
- Copy the password from Ringover and paste it into Password.
- In SIP Server 1, paste
sip.ringover.cominto Select Host. - Select TLS in Transport and enter
443in Port. - Click on Confirm.
4. Update codecs and security settings
Optimize your audio quality and secure the phone with a new password.
- Select Codec on the left menu.
- Move opus into the Enabled Codec list and put it at the very top.
- Click on Confirm.
- Go to Security, then select Password to change the default password.
- Enter the old password (
admin). - Enter the new password, which is the Team ID of the customer's company.
- Click on Confirm.
5. Test and repackage the phone
Ensure the device works properly before handing it over to the user.
- Test the phone by making a call to yourself.
- Turn off the phone and put it back in its box with its base.
- Add the charger inside the box.
- Write the customer's first name, last name, and the Team ID in pencil on the box.
