The Dropbox integration with Ringover allows you to automatically backup call recordings and export your communication data to secure cloud storage. In this guide, you’ll learn how to create a Dropbox app, activate the integration, and configure automatic backups for data archiving.
Prerequisites
- An active Ringover Business account.
- Administrative or technical permissions on your Ringover account.
- An active Dropbox account with available storage space.
Set up and configure Dropbox integration
1. Create a developer application in Dropbox
Generate an OAuth token in your Dropbox developer portal to authorize communication with Ringover.
- Go to the Dropbox Developer Portal (
https://www.dropbox.com/developers/apps) and click Create App. - Select Scoped Access, choose App folder, assign a name to your application, and click Create app.
- Go to the Permissions tab, check
files.metadata.writeandfiles.content.write, then click Submit. - Return to the Settings tab and scroll down to the OAuth 2 section.
- Click Generate to create an access token, then copy and save the generated token string.
2. Activate Dropbox in Ringover
Connect your generated access token to your Ringover Dashboard to authorize storage access.
⚠️ To prevent losing synchronization between Dropbox and Ringover, ensure your Dropbox storage capacity remains sufficient. Free Dropbox accounts include only 2GB of storage, so upgrading to a paid Dropbox plan is strongly recommended for large call volumes.
- Log in to your Ringover Dashboard.
- Go to Store > Integrations.
- Locate Dropbox and click Activate.
- Enable the Auto Backup toggle switch (disabled by default).
💡If your Dropbox account reaches maximum storage capacity, you can temporarily disable the auto backup toggle in your Ringover settings while clearing space.
🎉 You now know how to set up the Dropbox integration and can automatically back up and archive all your Ringover data!
