How to integrate Ringover with Microsoft Teams

The Ringover integration for Microsoft Teams keeps your telephony and collaboration tools in sync by aligning user availability and importing meeting logs. In this guide, you’ll learn how to activate the integration, authorize administrative permissions, and synchronize presence status and video call logs.

Prerequisites

  • An active Ringover Business account or higher.
  • Administrative permissions on your Ringover Dashboard.
  • A Microsoft administrator account to authorize tenant-wide scopes.

Activate and configure Microsoft Teams integration

1. Activate Microsoft Teams in the Ringover Dashboard

Start the integration process directly from your Ringover integration store.

  1. Log in to your Ringover Dashboard.
  2. Go to Store > Integrations.
  3. Locate Microsoft Teams in the list and click on it.
  4. Click on Activate and enter your Microsoft administrator credentials in the login window.
  5. Click on Sign in.
  6. Review the list of requested integration scopes on the Microsoft consent screen.
  7. Check the Consent on behalf of your organization box.

2. Configure presence synchronization and video call logs

Configure Microsoft Team's settings in Ringover.

  1. Link users with an account: Map Microsoft Teams users to their corresponding system account via "Manage users".
  2. Presence Synchronization: Toggle switch to synchronize Microsoft Teams presence status with Ringover.
  3. Microsoft Teams status → Ringover status and snooze: Configure custom Ringover snooze status mappings according to Microsoft Teams status: 
    • Available: Maps to "Available (not editable)".
    • Busy: Dropdown selector to choose the corresponding Ringover snooze status (e.g., "Doing admin tasks").
    • Do not disturb: Dropdown selector to choose the corresponding Ringover snooze status (e.g., "In a meeting").
    • Be right back: Dropdown selector to choose the corresponding Ringover snooze status (e.g., "Other").
    • Away: Dropdown selector to choose the corresponding Ringover snooze status (e.g., "Other").
    • Offline: Dropdown selector to choose the corresponding Ringover snooze status (e.g., "Dancing").
  1. Ringover status → Microsoft Teams status: Updates Microsoft Teams status based on active telephony status in Ringover:
    • In call: Maps directly to "In call (not editable)".
