SMS campaigns allow you to manage, scale, and automate your company's outgoing text messages. In this guide, you’ll learn how to request feature access, authorize team members, draft and launch outbound SMS broadcasts, and monitor your campaign performance.
Prerequisites
To access this feature, you must be an administrator of your Ringover account or have been granted supervisor access specifically for "SMS Campaigns."
Set up and execute bulk SMS campaigns
1. Request access to the SMS Campaigns feature
If the campaign features are not yet visible on your dashboard, you must submit a quick activation request to the support team.
- Go to your Ringover Dashboard.
- Navigate to Campaigns > SMS Campaigns.
- Click on the Request Access button.
- Wait for our support team to activate the functionality on your workspace.
2. Grant campaign supervisor access to your team (Admins only)
As an administrator, you can manually authorize team managers or agents to configure and send text broadcasts.
- Go to your Users page.
- Click on Edit.
- Scroll to the Dashboard Access section.
- Change their role to Supervisor.
- Check the box labeled Campaigns to grant them access.
- Save your changes.
3. Create and launch your SMS campaign
Once access is approved, you can design your message template and broadcast it to up to 1,000 recipients. Go to your Dashboard and navigate to Campaigns > SMS Campaigns
- Click on Create Campaign.
- Enter a descriptive Name for your campaign.
- Select your Brand from the dropdown menu (this will show as the sender ID on your recipients' mobile devices).
- Choose the target Destination country.
- Draft your message text in the composer box.
- Import, paste or type your recipient phone numbers in the input box, separating them with commas or new lines.
- Click the Delete icon next to any incorrect or out-of-country numbers to clean your list.
- Click on Create and Launch to broadcast your messages immediately.
The price of your campaign is calculated dynamically in real-time based on the size of your recipient list. For more billing details, check our guide on 🔗 How to manage your SMS characters.
⚠️ SMS campaigns are outbound-only marketing and alert channels; recipients will not be able to reply directly to these broadcast messages.
4. Monitor delivery status and troubleshoot errors
Track live progress on your campaigns page and resolve any delivery hiccups or credit issues.
- Remaining Recipients: Check the dashboard counter to see how many messages are still waiting to be delivered in real time.
- Exclamation Point Warning: If an exclamation point appears next to your campaign, the broadcast has been interrupted. Click on the campaign to review the error details.
- Technical Errors: If a general technical error occurs during transmission, wait a few seconds and refresh your dashboard page.
- Insufficient Credit: If your campaign pauses due to low funds, add credit to your billing account balance to automatically resume sending.
5. Track, duplicate, or archive campaign history
Audit past campaigns and duplicate successful broadcasts to save time on recurring alerts.
- Navigate to the main SMS Campaigns history table.
- Click on the three dots icon to the right of any completed campaign.
- Select View Details to audit the creator's name, creation date, message template, and full recipient list.
- Click on the three dots icon to select Duplicate, Restart, or Delete depending on your campaign needs.
