Authorising a user to call special or premium numbers on Ringover can be useful in certain professional situations requiring specific services. This option allows access to premium numbers, such as support services or paid lines, while controlling usage to avoid excessive costs.
If you wish to call special numbers like short numbers or 08 numbers, you need to enable an option in your user settings. To do this:
- 💻 Go to Dashboard > Settings > Users
- Click "Edit" beneath the desired user 👤. Enable the "Out-of-plan destinations" or "French Premium numbers" 💸 function by clicking the toggle to turn it blue, in the "Permissions" section, "calls":
-
- Out-of-plan destinations: These are calls to countries or regions not included in your plan. These calls may incur additional charges based on international rates or those specific to these destinations.
- French Premium numbers: These are numbers in France often used for particular services (e.g., customer service, technical support) and are generally premium-rate.
These calls may also incur additional costs, even when made from France. Your user can now call special and premium-rate numbers! 👌
Issues calling certain special numbers
Despite enabling permissions, some special number formats (such as 0800 or 0821 numbers) may have restrictions or compatibility issues on the Ringover platform. If you receive a 'NON VALIDE' message when attempting to call these numbers, it indicates the call cannot be completed. In this case, contact Ringover support with specific details like the 'Call ID' to help diagnose the exact cause of the calling restriction.
