There may be times when you need to remove a user, whether due to a change in position, an employee leaving, or for security reasons. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to proceed to remove a user on Ringover.
Prerequisites
- Note that you must be an administrator of the account 👨 Ringover to access this feature
Steps to remove a user on Ringover
- 💻 Go to your Dashboard> Settings> Users
- Select the user you want to remove
- In the user's settings, look for the "remove this user" option, which is located at the bottom of the page
- A pop-up will appear presenting you with two options:

- Archive a user: Archiving a user on Ringover means temporarily disabling their account without permanently deleting it. This allows you to retain all data and information associated with that user for one year, while blocking their access to the platform.
- Remove a user: Deleting a user on Ringover means permanently removing their account from the platform. This results in the loss of all data and information associated with that user.
- Read the warnings and select the option that suits you best
💡 Note:
- Deleting a user frees up a Ringover license that you can then reassign to a new user.
- When you delete the user, all call recordings linked to their account will be automatically deleted. If you want to keep the recordings, you must manually download them, or you can integrate the Ringover account with Dropbox, Google Drive, Amazon S3 (AWS S3), or via API by clicking here.
Steps to remove a license on Ringover
If you want to permanently remove the Ringover license to stop being charged 💰:
- Go to Dashboard> Billing
- In the "Your licenses" section, click on the "-" (minus) sign to remove the remaining license.
