Setting up your voice agent allows you to automate and customize communications such as qualifying prospects, booking appointments, and collecting information. This feature is essential to tailor the agent's language, tone, and ideal call steps to perfectly match your business needs.
Creating your voice agent
1. Accessing the voice agent
To access and select a plan for your voice agent
Go to your marketplace.
Choose between 2 offers: Pay as you go or a Customize plan (which includes Airo Voice Lite, Airo Voice Plus, and Airo Voice Max).
2. Create a new Voice Agent
Once you have selected your plan, navigate to your Airo page and click + New Voice Agent to select your preferred creation method:
Option 1: Guided Creation
Complete a 12-question guided wizard to automatically build your agent's profile. If none of the suggested choices match your needs, you can type custom entries:
Business or service type: Specify your industry (e.g., real estate, e-commerce, hospitality, etc.).
Agent role: Select the type of agent you want to create (e.g., sales representative, customer support agent, receptionist, etc.).
Agent objectives: Define the main tasks (e.g., answer FAQs, book appointments, collect caller information). Click Continue to move to the next question.
Target audience: Identify who the agent will be speaking with (e.g., prospects, existing customers, etc.).
Ideal call flow: Outline the key steps of a successful conversation (e.g., Greeting → Identify Problem → Provide Solution / Take Action).
Required information: Define the details the agent must collect from callers (e.g., full name, email address, phone number, budget, etc.).
Communication tone: Choose the brand tone and style (e.g., professional and formal, warm and welcoming, casual, etc.).
Forbidden topics: List topics the agent should avoid mentioning (e.g., competitor names, specific pricing structures, etc.).
Primary language: Select the language your voice agent will speak.
Website URL: Add your company URL so the AI agent can analyze and understand your business context.
Knowledge base URL: Add a link to your online help center or documentation to expand the agent's knowledge base.
Transcription notifications: Indicate whether you want to receive email call transcriptions, and enter your target email address.
After completing the questionnaire, review the capabilities recap, test your agent with a live preview call, and interact directly to refine its performance.
Option 2: Template or Manual Configuration
Template: Select a pre-built template to automatically configure all settings in one click.
Manual Setup: Configure every setting manually from scratch (🔗 How to personalize prompts for your AIRO Agent).
Option 3: Create from a Call Recording
Drag and drop an audio recording (
.mp3,.wav,.m4a,.webm,.ogg, or.flac).Requirements: Maximum file size of 25 MB and maximum duration of 10 minutes.
Privacy & Security: Audio files are processed securely and are never shared with third parties. Only the transcript and generated prompt are retained.
Option 4: Create from an Import
Go to an existing voice agent in your account, click the three dots icon (
...) on the right, and select Export.Click + New Voice Agent and choose the Import agent option.
Upload the exported
.jsonfile to instantly duplicate the configuration.
3. Personalizing your agent
You can further customize your agent's identity to fit your brand by modifying:
Language
Voice: You can personalize the gender and the accent, and listen to a preview.
LLM : choose your favorite GPT
Mood : Deterministic, creative or very creative
