Setting up special dates for your IVR allows you to automatically apply temporary configurations during specific times of the year, such as holidays. In this guide, you’ll learn how to define start and end dates to seamlessly adjust your routing rules.
Setting up special dates for your IVR
Define a special date range
You can easily set up special dates to make your IVR behave differently during a specific timeframe, like the end-of-year period.
Define a start date for your temporary configuration.
Define an end date to automatically apply this temporary behavior.
Once your dates are selected, decide how incoming calls should be managed during this period.
Special Voicemail
Use this option to set up a dedicated voicemail if your entire team is away for the holidays.
On-Call Assignment
Use this option to automatically route calls to a specific person assigned to be on call during the special period.
How Special Dates Work
When a schedule is configured for a special date, it is applied only during the defined time range.
Outside of this time range, the scenario corresponding to the day of the week is automatically executed.
Example:
If a special date is configured for Tuesday, July 14, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM:
- from 12:00 AM to 9:00 AM, the Tuesday scenario is executed;
- from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, the special date schedule is applied;
- from 5:00 PM to 12:00 AM, the Tuesday scenario is executed again.
🎉 You now know how to set up special dates for your IVR and can seamlessly manage your incoming calls during holidays and events!
