The Ringover integration for Odoo allows you to manage your calls and communications directly within your main Odoo modules, including CRM, Contacts, Helpdesk, Project, and HR. In this guide, you’ll learn how to connect your account, configure your settings, and install the integrated dialer.
Prerequisites
- You must have a Ringover Business or Advanced account to use this integration.
- The setup must be performed by both a Ringover administrator and an Odoo administrator.
Integrate and Configure Ringover with Odoo
With this integration, you can :
Make and receive calls in Odoo via the Ringover dialer app or the Chrome dialer extension.
Log your Ringover communication activities in Notes or Tasks.

1. Generate an API Key in Odoo
Access your Odoo account to retrieve your unique security key.
- Go to your Odoo application.
- Click on "Configuration".
- Search for and click "Activate developer mode" (you can type "developer" in the search bar to find it quickly).
- Click on "My Profile" in your menu.
- Go to the "Account Security" tab.
- Click on "New API Key".
- Name the key "Ringover" and click "Generate Key".
- Copy this key.
2. Connect Odoo to Ringover
Link your accounts using your API key and database information.
- Go to your Ringover Dashboard > Store > Integrations and click on "Odoo".
- Enter your Odoo credentials.
- Paste your copied Odoo API key into the designated API field.
- Then, click on "Activate".
- Subdomain: is part of your URL. In the example above, the subdomain is "mycompany", replace it with your own subdomain.
- Database: Follow the instructions bellow.

Find your Database:
Click on your profile picture or avatar in your Odoo account.
Select "My databases".
Copy the exact database name from the "Database" column. Do not copy extra text, numbers, or the URL. In the gif, the database is "ringoverdemo".
3. Customize your integration settings
Odoo Integration Settings allow you to fully customize how your communications, call records, and CRM data synchronize. In this guide, you’ll learn how to configure call logging, contact management, messaging, and ticket automation to perfectly align with your team's workflows.
Control how your team's calls are documented and stored directly within Odoo.
Call types: Choose the types of calls you want to be included in your integration (incoming, outgoing, or invalid calls) by selecting "Manage call types".
Include recordings in call logs: Select which recordings to sync (all files, recordings, voicemails, or none).
Restrict access to recordings: If activated, only users with an active Ringover account can access the call recording link.
Won Opportunity Handling: Choose whether to update an existing opportunity or create a new one when a deal is won.
Phone numbers: Select the specific numbers you want to include in your system.
SMS messaging numbers: Select the specific numbers you want to include in your system.
Group SMS conversations by: Choose how to group your SMS logs (by 24h days, full conversation, or do not group).
Link users with an account: Manually link Ringover users to a CRM account from the "Manual" tab, or configure automatic linking based on matching email addresses.
Assign missed IVR calls to: Choose a designated user to handle missed IVR routing calls.
Log internal calls: Activate this option if you want to log calls between your Ringover agents.
Include Ringover summaries in call logs: Automatically adds an AI-generated summary to the comments section of the activity log once it is generated from Ringover.
Include scenario name in call logs: Automatically records the name of the active IVR (Interactive Voice Response) routing scenario for incoming calls to show the caller's path.
Log calls as notes: Select whether call activities should be logged as tasks or notes in Odoo.
Select contact manually: The activity will be logged on the specific CRM contact you select manually from the dialer during or after the call.
Log exclusively on main contacts: Excludes related, invoice, delivery, follow-up, and other secondary contact types from call logging.
Duplicate phone number routing: If a contact and a lead share the same phone number, select where to log the call (all, contact, lead, or candidate).
Logs display language: Select the specific language you want your Odoo logs to be displayed in.
Type of object created: Choose whether to create a contact, lead, or candidate (for recruitment teams).
Mark activity as completed: If activated, the After-Call Work notes and tags won't be displayed in Odoo.
Create a service ticket: Choose a tag by service (customer care, support, billing, partners) to automatically trigger ticket creation in Odoo.
Use tags to update tags on ticket: Automatically synchronizes Ringover dialer tags with your Odoo service ticket tags for consistent categorization.
Log WhatsApp messages: Automatically records all incoming and outgoing WhatsApp conversations conducted through Ringover.
Log WhatsApp messages as: Choose whether to log WhatsApp activities as tasks or notes.
Group WhatsApp conversations by: Organize your WhatsApp records by full conversation or 24-hour days.
Activate the Project module: Integrates Ringover with Odoo's Project module, allowing your team to automatically update project tasks and stages based on Ringover activities.
Log in field service module: Syncs call activities directly into Odoo's Field Service module to document communication related to onsite work orders.
Create contact for calls: Automate contact page creation for incoming, outgoing, missed, completed, or all calls, or disable it.
Create contact for SMS: Automatically generate new contact entries for numbers sending SMS that are not yet in your database.
Create contact for WhatsApp messages: Automatically generate new contact entries for numbers sending WhatsApp messages that are not yet in your database.
Sync contacts (v4): Activates advanced, two-way real-time contact synchronization between Odoo and Ringover to ensure both directories match perfectly.
- Sync contacts on a call-by-call basis: If activated, contact details will be synced from your CRM and stored in your Ringover account only when you call them or they call you. It's highly recommended for larger databases as it keeps your dialer uncluttered by only loading records when active communication takes place.
- Display contact's info during call: Displays customer details during an active call, and only stores their info if call-by-call sync is enabled.
- Type of contact information to sync: If you select "Contact" instead of "All", any contact information related to billing, delivery, and other addresses will be excluded from the sync.
- Tickets: Select the target ticket pipeline where calls, SMS, and WhatsApp messages will be logged, and set the default ticket status for various message types.
- Mapped fields: Select a field from Odoo CRM and add a custom label name; this custom label and its corresponding CRM field will appear in the Info section of your dialer.
4. Install the Integrated Dialer
You can integrate the Ringover dialer into your Odoo interface in two ways, both of which are compatible with Odoo Cloud, On-Premise, and Odoo SH from version 14 up to version 18.
Option 1: Install the Ringover VoIP Chrome Extension (Recommended)
Install the Ringover dialer extension directly in your Chrome browser. This option is completely free and provides the exact same integrated dialing experience and features as the application.

Option 2: Install from the Odoo Marketplace
Install the Ringover application from the official Odoo marketplace. Note that using this custom-code application may incur additional fees from Odoo.
