Sending and receiving SMS messages

Users with a mobile line can send and receive SMS messages 💬 thanks to Ringover’s online SMS sending solution. It’s also incredibly simple to set up SMS marketing campaigns and to send SMS messages to your existing and prospective customers.

 

Prerequisites:

  • For sending and receiving SMS messages, you must have a Business or Advanced plan.

 

Note: SMS does not apply to test accounts.

 

Assigning a mobile number to a user

 

Make sure that you have at least one mobile number available on your Dashboard>Settings>Numbers. If not, please add one.

 

 

Sending an SMS message

Users with a mobile number will then be able to send SMS messages đź’¬ from their SMS page on the Ringover Webapp.

To send an SMS, simply click on the "Message" button located on the left menu of your Ringover interface, select the SMS button on the top right, and finally click on "+ New".

 

 

You just need to select the mobile phone number from which you want to send your SMS, and then the one to which you want to send it.

Type your message and then click on the "send" button. đź’¬ You can also set it up so that you only have to press the "Enter" key on your keyboard to send your message:

 

 

If a message fails to send, simply click on “Retry” to try to send it again.

 

All sorted, your message is sent! âś…

 

Schedule a message

You have the option to schedule a message for a specific date and time. To do so, after writing your message for the desired recipient, a dropdown list next to the send button will offer you three options.

 

 

Receiving an SMS message

When receiving an SMS, a small red badge with the number of received messages appears on the "SMS" button on the left of your interface Click on the button to view your received messages. Simply select a message to read all of it and reply to it.

💡 You can add an SMS thread to your favorites by clicking on the bookmark icon to the right of the thread. This means that you’ll be able to pull it up quicker in future, especially if you use the “Favorites” filter, or if you display the threads you want quick-access for at the top of your interface:



💡 You can also add a contact to your address book or add a number to an existing contact by simply clicking on the “+” icon next to the profile image.

 

You’re now ready to send and receive SMS messages! 🎉
