Granting external access allows you to provide dashboard access to colleagues without paying for a new Ringover account. In this guide, you’ll learn how to quickly create a free external user and assign them the right permissions.
Adding external access
1. Create an external user
You can easily set up an external user directly from your account settings.
- Go to your users page.
- Go to the external user section.
- Click on add an external user.
- Fill in the email and create a password.
⚠️ After an external user is created, the admin will have to manually email the person the login link and the password, since it is not automatically sent by the system.
2. Assign a role
Once the external user has been added, you must select the specific role you wish to assign them based on their responsibilities.
Accounting Role
Assign this role for billing and financial tasks.
- The user will only have access to the “Credits & Billing” section of the dashboard.
- They will be able to add credits and download invoices.
Technical Role
Assign this role for system management.
- The user will only have access to the “Configuration,” “Developer,” and “Integrations” sections.
- They will be able to create IVRs and groups, or add users and numbers.
🎉 You now know how to create an external user and can easily share dashboard access with your colleagues for free!
